About

Designing beyond the interface.

More than pixels

I’ve spent more than 15 years designing digital experiences, but my path into design was never limited to one discipline.

My background spans technology, visual design, web, user experience, product design, and entrepreneurship. Over time, my work has evolved from creating interfaces to understanding the larger systems behind them: the people, processes, business rules, technologies, and decisions that shape an experience long before a screen is designed.

I’ve worked across enterprise environments, digital products, complex workflows, and modernization initiatives where the challenge is rarely just making something look better. The harder and more interesting work is understanding what is actually broken, aligning the people involved, and designing a better way forward.

Today, I’m especially interested in the intersection of product design, service design, systems thinking, and AI-enabled experiences.

How I approach design

I believe good design starts with understanding.

Before moving pixels, I want to understand the user, the business, the environment, the constraints, and why the problem exists in the first place.

That perspective allows me to move comfortably between strategy and execution. I can zoom out to map an ecosystem or workflow, then zoom back in to refine an interaction, prototype, component, or interface.

I don’t view design as decoration added at the end of a process. I see it as a way to make complexity visible, challenge assumptions, create alignment, and help teams make better decisions.

What I bring to the table

Systems Thinking
I look beyond individual screens to understand workflows, dependencies, business rules, and the larger experience around the product.
Product Thinking
I connect user needs with business objectives, technical realities, and opportunities for measurable improvement.
Research + Discovery
I ask questions early, uncover the actual problem, and use evidence to reduce assumptions before teams commit to solutions.
Design Craft
From information architecture and interaction design through polished interfaces and prototypes, I care about how the details come together.
Facilitation + Alignment
I help cross-functional teams make complexity visible, reach decisions, and move forward with a shared understanding.
AI + Emerging Technology
I explore how AI and automation can improve products and workflows without losing sight of usability, trust, or human judgment.

Outside the work

Design is an important part of who I am, but it isn’t the whole story.

I’m also a husband, father, a speaker, photographer, builder, photographer, mentor, and entrepreneur. I’m naturally curious about technology, business, creativity, AI, and how things work, which means I’m usually experimenting with something, creating something, or figuring out how an idea could be made better.

That curiosity has shaped the way I approach design as much as any tool or methodology.
